Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group of women who make shawls as a group once a month and individually at home.  The shawls are made lovingly with prayer and distributed to those who are ill, facing surgery, grieving for a loved one, or experiencing other severe difficulties.

The shawl is a universal symbol of caring – enfolding, embracing, comforting, wrapping, healing and giving solace to the recipient as is a sign of the oneness of all of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Each shawl is blessed before being given out.  We give our shawls in the hope that the love of the whole parish family will be felt and give comfort to the receiver.
